The Duke of Sussex spent the day on Wednesday undertaking a series of events with the Invictus Foundation on his last day in London before heading to Birmingham.

Harry spent the day at Royal Hospital Chelsea, where he attended a summit for international Team Managers, and oversaw preparations for the upcoming Invictus Spirit Awards.

He also met with a delegation from Uganda, the newest Invictus Community member, who will be competing in their first Games next year. The private events were not open to media, as plans for the day were changed due to the ongoing heatwave.

Today is a busy day for the Royal Family, with several engagements all taking place around the same time.

Prince Harry will be heading to Birmingham, where he will visit the city's childrens hospital for a WellChild event.

Meanwhile, King Charles and Queen Camilla will make their way to London Zoo to mark the 200th year of the iconic institution.

Prince William is also out and about today, undertaking a series of engagements in Hastings. The Prince of Wales will highlight the town’s fishing community and the vital work of local youth-led and community-driven organisations.

On Tuesday, one day after his arrival in his home country, Harry made his way to Central London for an Invictus Games Foundation event at Chatham House. The event brought together members of the Invictus community, leading experts and policymakers, including UK minister for veterans and people Calvin Bailey, to discuss issues affecting wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans – all those eligible to take part in the paralympic-style games.

Inside the event, chair of the Invictus Games Foundation Lord Charles Allen, CBE, introduced Harry to the stage just moments after the verdict was delivered, as he thanked the audience for coming before joking that "this is one of the few rooms in the UK that has air conditioning!"

Harry said during his address: "Looking around this room, I see people representing different nations, different governments, different militaries, different organisations and different approaches to recovery. And that's exactly as it should be.

"No two countries are the same. No two healthcare systems are the same. No two military cultures are the same. What brings us together is far more important than what sets us apart.

"Every one of us believes that those who have served their country – and in particular those whose lives have been changed by that service – deserve more than our gratitude. They deserve opportunity. The chance to redefine one’s Purpose and Identity. They deserve to truly feel our admiration and Respect. And they deserve every chance to build the life they choose beyond military service. That's what the Invictus Community is all about."

Harry concluded: "I hope you leave this conference with a deeper understanding of what the Invictus movement really is. Not simply a week of sport every few years, but a community united by one belief: that the unconquered human spirit exists in every nation and that our shared responsibility is to create the conditions in which it can flourish."

The Spirit of Invictus train was unveiled by JJ Chalmers, a two-time Invictus gold medallist, at Euston Station in central London this morning, as part of the One Year to Go celebrations for the Invictus Games Birmingham 2027.

Later today, Harry will head to Birmingham ahead of tomorrow's major event, which will mark the official one year countdown to next year's games.

Prince Harry is said to be trying to organise last-minute security to safely bring his wife Meghan and their children Archie and Lilibet to his home country.

Harry arrived in the UK earlier this week, but after his security request was denied from the Home Office, he made the trip solo. While Meghan and the children did not join the prince for his trip to London, it is believed they may head to Britain when Harry travels to Birmingham.

Plans being discussed by the King and Harry include the possibility of Meghan and the children flying into the UK this week for just 24 hours.

A royal source told the Mirror: “While nothing has been ruled out, conversations remain ongoing.” The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had previously made plans to stay with Harry's uncle Charles Spencer, Princess Diana's brother, at his family home Althorp House in Northampton.

The King has reportedly instructed palace aides to find time in his busy schedule to meet with his son Prince Harry, his daughter-in-law Meghan Markle and his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet.

Harry arrived in the UK on Monday solo, after his wife and children stayed behind over security fears. However, it is rumoured that Meghan and the kids may come to Britain for a limited time when Harry travels to Birmingham for a major Invictus Games event.

As a result, royal sources have claimed that senior aides to Charles are trying to find time for the monarch to meet with the Sussexes, despite a busy diary of several events.

A source said: “The King would not pass up the opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren and if there is a way of making it possible, he will do it.”

The King, 77, has only met Archie, seven, on a handful of occasions when Harry and Meghan lived in the UK and only met five-year-old Lilibet once when the family returned for the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
