BENGALURU: A key witness in the ongoing trial in a rape case against former MP Prajwal Revanna has told the special court that she received threatening phone calls after recording her evidence and expressed fear for the safety of herself and her son.The development came during the hearing before the special court in Bengaluru on Thursday. The case is being conducted through a special public prosecutor and is currently at the trial stage. On July 6, 2026, the 43-year-old witness, a social worker from Holenarasipura in Hassan district, was examined as prosecution witness-4 before the court.During her cross-examination on Thursday, she reportedly told the court that she had received threatening phone calls after completing her examination-in-chief on the previous occasion.Taking note of her statement, the court directed the additional director general of police, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), to inquire into the alleged threats and submit a report on the next date of hearing. The witness also raised fresh concerns after the completion of her evidence.
