The city of Vaughan, Ont., has paused its new automated speed enforcement cameras after 32,000 tickets were handed out in just three weeks. The city’s mayor put forward a motion last week to pause the tickets until September, when council is due to receive a report on how to improve signage about the presence of cameras. Over the summer months, when cameras snap a picture of a speeder, the driver will receive a warning in the mail rather than a fine. Catherine McDonald has more on the pause and what the city is hoping to achieve.
