The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has revised the quantity freeze limits for index futures and options contracts, effective September 1, 2026, the exchange had announced in its circular.

Under the revised limits, the quantity freeze for Bank Nifty is 600, while Nifty and FinNifty have a limit of 1,800 each. Midcap Nifty has a limit of 2,800, Nifty Next 50 has a limit of 600 and NiftyFPI has a limit of 8,500.

The revised limits are order-size restrictions and do not represent position or open interest (OI) limits.

The exchange advised members to load the updated contract files in their trading applications before trading on the effective date.
