Severe thunderstorms with flooding and damaging winds are expected across multiple provinces on Tuesday, according to the South African Weather Service (SAWS).

Impact-based warnings:

Yellow Level 4 warning: Severe thunderstorms resulting in localised flooding of susceptible roads, low-lying areas and bridges, large amounts of small hail and strong damaging winds are expected over Gauteng, Mpumalanga, and the south-western and south-eastern parts of Limpopo.

Weather warning: Severe thunderstorms with a high likelihood of minor impacts of heavy rain, localised flooding, damaging winds & a possibility of Hail and excessive lightning.

Yellow Level 2 warning: Severe thunderstorms resulting in localised flooding of susceptible roads, low-lying areas and bridges, large amounts of small hail and strong winds are expected over KwaZulu-Natal, eastern and central parts of the Free State and North West, northern Eastern Cape, central parts of Limpopo, and the Mpumalanga Highveld.
