Nadia Sawalha has promised that she will explain why she no longer appears on Loose Women. The former EastEnders star was one of the original panellists on the programme, and appeared on the very first episode in 1999.

She initially stayed with the show until 2002 and then made a comeback in 2013. Since then, she has regularly appeared alongside the likes of Coleen Nolan, Kaye Adams and Olivia Attwood but has not been seen on the show, which is currently off air for the summer holidays, since the end of April.

In a cryptic post shared to her Instagram page on Monday night, a video showed her ITV lanyard with her name and face on it, and she captioned the post: "'Why haven’t I seen you on Loose Women for ages?' Can anyone guess? Will tell you if you guessed right on Wednesday here 6pm."

Fans raced to the comments section of her mysterious post to speculate, and the TV star, 61, gave a little more information when she responded to one The fan asked: “Does this mean they won’t have you back?”

She replied: “I will be telling the whole story. It’s pretty unbelievable.” Nadia is married to Mark Adderley, he simply commented: "Hmm..."

According to reports that emerged earlier this year, she was dropped by bosses over “unhinged” videos shared on Coffee Moaning, the YouTube channel she runs with her husband, Mark Adderley - who was suspended by the Green Party ahead of the local elections, over allegations that he shared posts comparing Israel to Nazi Germany.

At the time, she accused “dark forces” of smearing Mark. She said in a video on YouTube: "We've been punished all along right from when we first started talking about Palestine. The dark forces behind everything that you see is quite extraordinary, I have to tell you."

Following initial speculation over Nadia's absence, ITV spoke out to deny reports that she had been suspended, but insiders claimed that both the broadcaster and Nadia "needed some space" from one another.

At the time, a source told the Daily Mail: "We love Nadia, she's a great Loose Woman . There has been a lot going on so Loose Women is having some space from her for some calm."

Since January, episodes of the lunchtime chat show have been reduced to 30 weeks a year, and it no longer has a live audience, but, earlier this year, Nadia played down the rumours that she had been suspended from the lineup.

Speaking on Instagram, she said: "Thank you all so much for all your lovely messages but listen, don’t worry guys, there’s loads of lies going around at the moment. One of which is that I have been suspended from Loose Women. I have not been suspended from Loose Women."

Then, in an interview with Women's Weekly, she addressed the big changes at ITV. She said: "We're all going to miss the audience terribly, but how it will affect the dynamic of the show, who knows? The audience has always been the fifth Loose Women, it's going to be very strange, it's sad, but it's the sign of the times.

"I'm just really upset about my friends and colleagues - the crew - that were made redundant. "I am worried, because we're all worried all the time in this world that we live in. Everything is so precarious
