MUBI have released the official trailer and artwork for Nicholas Winding Refn’s (Drive, The Neon Demon) latest film, Her Private Hell, due to be released later this year.

It stars Sophie Thatcher alongside Charles Melton, Kristine Froseth, Havana Rose Liu and Diego Calva. The film’s synopsis says that a mysterious mist engulfs a futuristic metropolis, unleashing a deadly, elusive entity. Soon, a heinous killer known as Leather Man goes around the city taking the lives of women, and a troubled young woman searching for her father collides with an American GI on a harrowing odyssey to rescue his daughter from Hell.

Driven by his trademark neon cinematography, striking atmospheric dread, and an intoxicating orchestral score by legendary composer Pino Donaggio, the film has been described as a breathtaking, kaleidoscopic experience designed to mesmerize and seduce. It will be Refn’s first feature film after a ten-year sabbatical from directing movies. His last feature was The Neon Demon, a body-horror acid trip starring Elle Fanning that debuted at Cannes in 2016. Since then, he’s done a couple of different projects for Television. Executive producers include Takuma Takasaki, Kimberly Willming, Christina Erritzøe, and Lene Børglum.

Her Private Hell will release in UK cinemas on September 25th.
