Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayAcademy Award nominee Monica Barbaro is joining the Untitled Ocean’s Eleven Prequel. The prequel follows Danny Ocean’s parents, two criminal masterminds, as they pull off an elaborate heist at the 1962 Monaco Grand Prix.
The film also stars Oscar-nominated actors Margot Robbie, Bradley Cooper and Wagner Moura. Cooper is directing the film alongside writing the script with George Clayton Johnson and Charles Randolo. The film is reportedly based on Danny Ocean’s (George Clooney) parents, who would be played by Robbie and Cooper.
Barbaro’s previous credits include her breakout supporting role in Top Gun: Maverick, Netflix’s FUBAR, and her portrayal of Joan Baez, alongside Timothée Chalamet in A Complete Unknown, which garnered her first Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
The franchise began in 2001 with the release of Ocean’s Eleven, a remake of the 1960 movie Ocean’s 11 directed by Steven Soderbergh. The remake was followed by Ocean’s Twelve and the final instalment of the trilogy, Ocean’s Thirteen. The star-studded line-up of the original trilogy included Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts and Matt Damon.
Warner Bros. released Ocean’s Eight (2018), a standalone spinoff starring Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett and Anne Hathaway.
Robbie’s LuckyChap Entertainment is set to produce, with previous production credits including Barbie, Emerald Fennell’s Saltburn and Wuthering Heights.
The film is set to be released in 2027.
