Thirty-one students enrolled in five schools under the Ernakulam district administration’s ‘Roshni’ project for the educational uplift of migrant children are undergoing a 10-day training programme here in the Madhubani tradition of painting.

The sessions are being led by Madhubani artists, including Chandrakant Kumar Bari and Lalita Dutta from Bihar, at the Government Vocational Higher Secondary School at Kunnumpuram near Edappally. The programme aims to impart vocational skills to the students along with their studies, according to a communication.

Daraksha Parveen, a native of Bihar and one of the early beneficiaries of the Roshni project, is the mentor for the programme. Hrithik Ranjan, Assistant Collector, Ernakulam, inaugurated the programme on Monday. The training sessions will conclude on October 14.
