In a tragic incident that has left a village in shock, a 19-year-old pregnant woman reportedly died by suicide in Karnataka’s Vaddaradoddi village in Ramanagara district. The young woman, identified as Nayana, was five months pregnant and had been married for just nine months.

According to her family, Nayana allegedly poured diesel over her body and set herself ablaze inside her home. The flames were severe, and she died on the spot before help could arrive. Her relatives say the incident has devastated the family, as both Nayana and her unborn child lost their lives in the tragedy.

Family Alleges Harassment by Husband’s Family

Following the incident, Nayana’s parents filed a complaint with the police accusing her husband Sunil and his parents of harassment. The family alleged that Nayana had been facing continuous mental pressure since the day of her wedding.

According to her relatives, disputes and alleged cruelty from her husband’s family had been mounting over the past several months. They claim that the ongoing stress and harassment pushed the young woman to take the extreme step.

The parents have demanded strict legal action against the husband and his family members. They say they hold the in laws directly responsible for the death of both Nayana and her unborn child.

Police Begin Investigation

Soon after receiving information about the incident, Ramanagara Rural Police reached the house in Vaddaradoddi village. Nayana was rushed to a nearby medical facility, but doctors declared her dead-on arrival.

Her body was later shifted to the district hospital where a post mortem examination was conducted as part of the investigation.

Based on the complaint filed by Nayana’s parents, the police have registered a case and begun a detailed inquiry into the circumstances that led to the incident. Authorities are currently questioning the husband and his parents regarding the allegations of harassment.

As the investigation continues, police say they are examining all aspects of the case to determine what led to the tragedy. For many in the village, the incident remains a painful reminder of how unresolved disputes within families can sometimes end in devastating consequences.
