Omar Marmoush is set to undergo a medical at Tottenham after Manchester City agreed a loan deal for the forward that includes an obligation for Spurs to buy him permanently.

The deal will guarantee City £50m, with a further £10m available in add-ons, including £5m that is guaranteed.

Marmoush is expected to sign a four-year contract with Tottenham, with the option of a further season. No sell-on fee will be owed to his former club Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Egypt international’s move comes just days after Tottenham completed an £85m deal for his Manchester City team-mate Savio.

Spurs had been working on both deals this week as Roberto De Zerbi continues to reshape his squad ahead of the new season.

Marmoush’s departure from City is a relatively quick turnaround for a player who only joined the club in January 2025.

City paid around £59m to £63m to sign him from Frankfurt after an impressive start to the 2024-25 season in Germany, where he scored 20 goals in 26 appearances.

He made an immediate impact at the Etihad, scoring seven goals in 16 appearances during the second half of that campaign.

However, his opportunities became more limited last season.

🚨🆕 As revealed and now confirmed: Eintracht Frankfurt have NO sell-on clause for Omar Marmoush despite reports.

The reason: Eintracht received their desired €75m guaranteed fee at the time, plus an additional €5m in bonuses. There were also very few instalments, meaning all… pic.twitter.com/VGTSkH7CUv

Marmoush scored eight goals in 36 appearances across all competitions, but only eight of those appearances were starts in the Premier League. He came off the bench 13 times in the competition.

He was also included in City’s squad for the Community Shield against Arsenal on 16 August, replacing Erling Haaland in the second half of their 3-0 defeat.

The move to Tottenham would give Marmoush the opportunity to play a more prominent role under De Zerbi, while City would receive a significant fee for a player who had fallen down the pecking order.

Tottenham have already spent heavily this summer as they look to strengthen their squad.

Their permanent additions include Savio, Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes and Jan Paul van Hecke, with the club spending more than £300m on those four players.

Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dubravka have also arrived as free agents.
