Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayMarks and Spencer has launched an amazing, healthy, hydrating snack which is perfect if you want a little boost when you're on the go – and it comes in two flavours
Marks and Spencer has released some seriously innovative new snacks which often go viral, and these healthy, hydrating snacks are no different.
M&S has brought out cucumber pots with a delicious dressing which you can shake and enjoy. It's an amazing concept for the summer, as cucumbers are so healthy and hydrating. In 100g of cucumber, there are only 15 calories, and they're excellent for hydration if you're struggling to drink enough. According to BUPA UK, they are composed of roughly 95% to 96% water, which is the highest water content of any solid food. In addition to water, cucumbers provide key electrolytes like potassium and magnesium, which support fluid balance.
That's why Eloise Head wanted to try them for herself, and tried the two flavours. One is The Big Dill Shake-A-Cucumber, and the other is Feeling Spicy Shake-A-Cucumber.
Regarding the dill flavour, the M&S website reads: "Fresh cucumber slices served with a dill and gherkin cream cheese dressing for a cool, savoury flavour. Designed to be shaken in the pot so every slice is coated, with the dressing kept separate to help the cucumber stay crisp."
And the spicy one reads: "Crisp cucumber slices paired with a spicy sesame miso mayonnaise for a warming, savoury kick."
You pour the sauce over the cucumber, put the lid back on, shake them up, and then you can enjoy the cucumber slices inside.
"It's just cucumber and dressing. Honestly, guys, the things we fall for because of marketing... Shame on us," Eloise joked before she tucked into the cucumber slices.
With her first mouthful, she said she didn't get "enough dressing" so went back in for another try and claimed "the dressing is actually really nice".
Eloise said it was "really tangy, really refreshing and creamy". She also praised the "convenience" of the cucumber pot, "if you're out and you want a refreshing summery snack," it's ideal. She rated the dill version 8/10.
Then she tried the spicy one, which she said she hoped wasn't "too spicy".
She said the "sesame taste is quite strong," so if you enjoy those flavours, you'll enjoy this one. "This one has a stronger flavour, but I don't like the flavour as much," she admitted.
Eloise mentioned it was "really good," but not to her taste as much, so rated it 7.5/10.
In the comments, someone said they were "really nice," but wouldn't "buy them all the time".
Another person fumed: "The bit that bugs me is that they don’t provide forks. How would I eat that out and about? I’d have to go home… but I have cucumber at home, so it’s no longer convenient."
A third pointed out they "usually have forks at the checkout" that you can take so you can eat when you're on the go.
Would you try these cucumber pots? Let us know in the comments...
