Jeremy Jacquet completed his move to Liverpool earlier this summer after a deal was agreed in January and it appears that his new teammates have already left an impression

Jeremy Jacquet has said that new Liverpool team-mate Jeremie Frimpong is ‘off his head’ after opening up on his move to Anfield. The defender officially completed his switch to Merseyside this summer, after the Reds agreed a deal for his services back in January.

The 21-year-old could make his debut for his new club during their packed pre-season schedule. Having already been at Liverpool for a few weeks, Jacquet has discussed the welcome he received, as well as his new teammates.

Speaking to Stan Sport, he said: "Yeah, so far that has all been going very well. They've given me a very warm welcome. And I'm getting to know them much better with every day."

On the teammate he knows best, Jacquet added: "That depends… I'm trying to take the time to get to know everyone.

"But I spend a lot of time talking with Trey [Nyoni] and Leo [Giovanni Leoni], I often chat to Hugo [Ekitike] too of course. But other than these guys, I chat to everyone. A lot with Jeremie [Frimpong] too, who's off his head, by the way!"

Jacquet also saved a special mention for Liverpool supporters ahead of his debut campaign. He said: "Yes, I've had lots of messages from the fans, and I'd like to thank them for that. It's something that I really do appreciate, as I'd already received quite a few before I even arrived at the club."

Jacquet could potentially make his debut for Liverpool on Saturday evening, with the Reds set to take on Premier League rivals Sunderland.

New boss Andoni Iraola has already spoken about the young defender and believes he is ready to make an instant impact at Anfield.

Speaking last week, the Spaniard said: “Jeremy was a player that I knew very well, even before signing for Liverpool. Still being young, I think he has all the tools that we will need for that position.

“He also came into the last months of the [past] season with a shoulder injury, but he is fully healed. He has been already training with the U21s. He’s ready to go from the beginning.”

Following their clash with Sunderland, Liverpool have further games against Wrexham, Leeds, Monaco and Como. They will start their 2026/27 Premier League campaign against Eddie Howe’s Newcastle at St James’ Park.
