West Indies all out for 190

At the start of the day, the West Indies would have undoubtedly taken that.

However, they could be even further in front, if it weren't for those two third umpiring howlers.

Both Roston Chase and Shai Hope had promising innings cut short by horrendous decisions.

Still, the hosts did exceptionally well to eek out a 10 run lead.

The game is in the balance as we head into an early tea.

See you for the evening session in about 20 minutes!

WEST INDIES ARE ALL OUT!

Flighted and full from Lyon and Seales can't help himself.

He's down on one knee and slog sweeping.

The number 11 gets good contact but it's straight down the throat of Beau Webster who takes a simple catch.

10m agoThu 26 Jun 2025 at 6:14pm

64th over: Here comes the Goat

I can feel the heat from Alzari Joseph's eyes lighting up all the way in Sydney.

And he's swinging big first ball! However, it's a bit of a mishit and the batters run through for a single.

15m agoThu 26 Jun 2025 at 6:09pm

63rd over: Starc to steam in once more

The Windies have a first innings lead.

They're currently in front by six - if that can stretch that to, say, 20, that will be a massive win for the hosts.

Alzari Joseph works one of the hip for a single.

Starc will have five balls at number 11 Jayden Seales.

The first one is full and straight, but Seales is solid in defence.

Short and into the body from Starc. Seales does well to stand up and flick it behind square for a single.

A full one from Starc is flicked attractively by Joseph and he gets a single through midwicket.

An attempted yorker becomes a leg-side full toss, but Seales can't get anything on it and Carey pouches it.

20m agoThu 26 Jun 2025 at 6:04pm

62nd over: Hazlewood in again

His first one is on a good length and moving away from Joseph, who is playing and missing.

Six! Pummelled by Joseph! He plants the front foot and sends Hazlewood right back over his head.

The West Indies are now one run in front!

Another big swing! This time it's a thick edge that flies over the top of the cordon and to the fence for four.

Well played from Joseph, who just opens the face of the bat and runs a single down to point.

Seales has two to survive.

And he's swinging! And missing.

Seales deflects one to gully and that's over.

61st over: Starc continues to bowl at the tail

Australia's resident mop continues his work.

Joseph is shouldering arms to a wide-ish one outside the off stump.

Oh how different things could have been for the West Indies.

If it weren't for those two third umpire howlers, the hosts would surely be looking at a first innings lead.

As we stand, their still eight runs behind with only one wicket in hand.

Joseph makes that seven with a drop and run single into the off-side.

Seales squirts one out behind square and he's off the mark with a single of his own.

A good single from Joseph, just prodded into the off-side.

He'll retain strike after Seales sees out the final ball of the over.

28m agoThu 26 Jun 2025 at 5:56pm

60th over: Hazlewood steams in again

And the remaining Joseph, Alzari, is taking a single into the off-side.

Number 11 Jayden Seales will get his first strike.

He keeps the first one out - in behind the ball and defending into the off-side.

Hazlewood bangs the next one in short. Seales stands up and is executing an almighty heave to the on-side, however, he gets nothing on it and the ball ricochets off his back and behind the wicket.

And Seales is leaving the last ball of the over.

OUT! STARC GETS IN ON THE ACT!

Starc hurls in an attempted yorker that is both too full and too straight.

However, luckily for the big left-armer, Shamar Joseph makes a bit of a meal of it and the ball cannons into his pad and onto the stumps.

No doubt about that one and the Windies are nine down.

35m agoThu 26 Jun 2025 at 5:49pm

59th over: Starc steams in

And Alzari is playing one into the off-side for a single.

Starc gets his first look at Shamar, and sends in a well-directed yorker that the batter does well to keep out.

The television broadcast is showing replay after replay of that Shai Hope dismissal - and it looks worse every time you see it.

The ball clearly touched the ground.

A good one from Starc has Shamar backing away.

Big swing! And a "ohhhh!" from Shamar as he backs away and tries to hammer Starc through the off-side. He makes no contact and it's through to Carey.

37m agoThu 26 Jun 2025 at 5:47pm

28th over cont: Webster has three to come

Two Joseph's out there now.

And Shamar has come out swinging!

Two fours to end the over - both great shots through point.

WHAT A CATCH! WEBSTER GETS A SECOND AND SHAI HOPE IS OUT! BUT DID THE BALL HIT THE GROUND?

Umpire Kettleborough is asking to have a look at this but I think it's out.

A brilliant catch from Carey.

An inside edge, serious deviation and Carey, at full stretch, pouches the ball in his left hand.

OR DOES HE!

Did that ball touch the ground.

Ironically, umpire Holdstock says "there's a clear deviation so no need for ultra edge".

Yes, I think that ball has hit the ground.

Oh wow.

Holdstock has confirmed the wicket.

I think I've seen everything now.

Another hugely controversial decision.

Shai Hope goes for 48, West Indies 8-162.

"There are not many fans of Adrian Holdstock in the West Indies at the moment. Flabbergasted," says the commentator.

That's drinks, time for Henry to take us to tea.

43m agoThu 26 Jun 2025 at 5:41pm

58th over - Webster continues

You'd be tempted to bring Starc on, wouldn't you? Given Alzarri Joseph is there.

A neat push from Hope and they are going to run two - good running between the wickets to take on the arm of Lyon at deep cover.

48m agoThu 26 Jun 2025 at 5:36pm

57th over - Cummins carries on

Single straight away from Hope, he must trust Alzarri Joseph enough to give him some ball.

FOUR! Guided almost towards the slips, with soft hands past Webster at second slip for a boundary to third man.

Good stop by Konstas at midwicket, diving and stopping a clipped shot from Joseph.

Bouncer, Joseph ducks under it.

Solid defence by Joseph - a murmur of appreciation from the crowd ripples around the ground.

Another solid defensive stroke from Joseph.

Well played.

50m agoThu 26 Jun 2025 at 5:34pm

56th over - Webster has four more

Alzarri Joseph drives uppishly through cover for a single to get off the mark straight away.

BEATEN! That's a good ball from Webster, the ball beating Hope's outside edge.

Good bounce from Webster, 126kmh, but great carry to Carey outside off, left alone by Hope.

Hope fends past gully with a crouching jab of a shot and he gets a single to keep the strike.

EDGED! GREAVES IS OUT! BEAU WEBSTER GETS HIS FIRST!

Just a feather and Justin Greaves has to go!

A disappointing innings from the former Barbados, current Leeward Islands all rounder.

He never looked comfortable and the WIndies will be hard pushed to get a first innings lead now.

He departs for 4, a ball he didn't really need to play.

It's 7-153.

54m agoThu 26 Jun 2025 at 5:30pm

56th over - Webster continues

Mitch Starc is warming up - "remember me, skip" he may be saying.

Off the leading edge by Hope, a single is taken as the ball flies out towards cover.

Greaves has a first class century on this ground. He looks a long way from that here.

1h agoThu 26 Jun 2025 at 5:24pm

55th over - Pat Cummins comes back into the attack

From the Joel Garner End, Hope defends solidly.

Driven uppishly through cover! There is a call of catch but Head, at cover point, just can't get there and they will run three.

Greaves defends.

Now he pushes into the covers and they'll run a single - suggestion of a couple of runs but it is just one.

Glorious shot from Shai Hope! He had to reach for it and that's risky, but it never looked like it was live, a really nice shot that gets him another three runs.

BEATEN! Swing and a miss from Greaves, who looks to emulate his batting partner but chases a wide one, failing to make contact with an expansive drive.

1h agoThu 26 Jun 2025 at 5:20pm

54th over - Webster comes into the attack

BEATEN! That's a great ball to start, beating Greaves' inside edge with a beauty.

IN THE AIR! Just short of mid on there! The ball just held up a bit and Greaves had to check his shot.

Greaves drives to cover and they get a single.

Solid defence. from Hope.

Hope is hit by a rising ball there that time and takes off for a single - he knew nothing about that shot.

1h agoThu 26 Jun 2025 at 5:16pm

53rd over - Hazlewood continues

The West Indies trail by 40.

INSIDE EDGE! Greaves is lucky as he attempts to drive and sees the ball fly to square leg. He gets off the mark with a single.

Down the leg side, Hope just fends it behind and Carey takes on the bounce.

Hope pulls to deep backward square leg and it's a single.

Greaves clips away for a single.

EDGED! Along the ground to third slip, Inglis wishing he had gloves on as the ball pings him on the finger.

Outside off, left alone to end the over by Hope.
