This Autumn, Laika’s seven year hiatus from our cinemas will end with Wildwood. Today Black Bear have dropped another fantastical UK Trailer for their next stop motion feature things are about to get emotional.

This latest trailer showcases the fabulous visuals and a storyline that’s stakes are high. A tale of love, loss, and war which takes centre stage, so far would you go for the ones you love?

Wildwood follows teen Prue who is looking for her little brother who has been abducted by crows and a mysterious woman.

The voice talents on show in this one include Carey Mulligan, Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Jacob Tremblay, Richard E. Grant, Awkwafina, Amandla Stenberg, Tom Waits, Charlie Day, Blythe Danner, Arthur Knight, Maya Erskine, Jake Johnson, Tantoo Cardinal, Rob Delaney, Jemaine Clement, Marc Evan Jackson, Len Cariou, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, with Angela Bassett and Mahershala Ali.

Travis Knight directs who directed Laika‘s Kubo and the Two Strings returns. After several years of mixing with Transformers and Masters Of The Universe.

Synopsis | Set just beyond Portland, Oregon, Wildwood begins when headstrong teenager Prue McKeel’s baby brother is abducted by a murder of crows and carried into the Impassable Wilderness — a hidden forest that most people don’t know exists.

Prue follows.

Joined by her loyal but hapless classmate Curtis Mehlberg, she crosses into a world unlike anything she knows: a vast and unpredictable wilderness of talking animals, bandits, ancient powers and rival factions, all caught in a struggle for the future of Wildwood.

As Prue ventures deeper into the forest, what begins as a rescue becomes something much larger. To bring her brother home, she will have to navigate a world with its own histories, loyalties and secrets — and discover why she was drawn there in the first place.

Wildwood will be released in UK and Irish cinemas from 23rd October.
