Cameron Green’s IPL 2026 campaign has got off to a poor start, with another failure capped by a bizarre run-out against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match 6 of IPL 2026 in Kolkata.KKR won the toss and invited SRH to bat. Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a strong 226/8 in 20 overs, powered by key contributions from the top and middle order.

Travis Head (46) and Abhishek Sharma (48) provided a blazing 82-run opening stand, while Heinrich Klaasen anchored the innings with a fluent 52.

Nitish Kumar Reddy added late impetus with 39 as SRH crossed the 220-mark despite a few quick wickets in the middle.

For KKR, Blessing Muzarabani was the standout performer with figures of 4/41, picking up crucial wickets, while Vaibhav Arora (2/47), Kartik Tyagi (1/48), and Anukul Roy (1/16) chipped in with support.KKR made a blistering start in the Powerplay, with Finn Allen smashing Payne for 24 in the opening over before falling for a quick 28. The runs continued to flow as Abhishek Sharma was taken for 15, helping KKR race to 50 in just 3.2 overs. Jaydev Unadkat conceded a couple of boundaries but struck back by dismissing Rahane, while a mix-up in the middle resulted in Cameron Green’s bizarre run-out, adding to the early drama.

Bizarre run-out at the end of PowerplayIt was a classic case of why you never run off a misfield. Raghuvanshi drove it straight back to Malinga, who got a boot to it and half-stopped the ball. Both batters hesitated and ended up stranded mid-pitch. Malinga quickly recovered, picked up the ball, and calmly broke the stumps at the bowler’s end.

Initially, it appeared Raghuvanshi had crossed, and he even began walking back, visibly frustrated. However, replays confirmed both batters were at the same end, leaving Green short of his ground. Cameron Green departed for 2 off 2 in a bizarre run-out.
