A delegation of the Kalyana Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KKCCI), Kalaburagi, has invited Congress president and Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge to inaugurate its Diamond Jubilee celebrations scheduled to be held in Kalaburagi from November 28 to 30.
The delegation, led by KKCCI president Sharanabasappa M. Pappa and honorary secretary Shivraj V. Inginshetty, met Mr. Kharge at his office in New Delhi on Tuesday and formally extended the invitation. Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Jairam Ramesh was also present.
The three-day celebrations will mark 60 years of the Chamber’s contribution to trade, industry and the development of the Kalyana Karnataka region. The programme will include an industrial exhibition, a State-level conference, the ‘Udyoga Sethu’ job mela and the KKCCI Founders’ Day celebrations.
The delegation briefed Mr. Kharge on the programme’s objectives, including bringing together industrialists, entrepreneurs, industry associations and job seekers to promote business opportunities, investment and employment in the region. The celebrations will also recognise the contributions of the Chamber’s founders and those who have helped build the organisation over the past six decades.
The delegation said Mr. Kharge’s presence at the inauguration would be particularly significant as Kalaburagi is his hometown and would serve as an encouragement to the region’s business and industrial community.
KKCCI joint secretary Girish Anakal, Lingraj Bhavikatti, Dinesh Patil, Santosh Suresh Nandyal, Jagadish Patil, Vinay Chitakwar, Anudeep Dandoti and Shivraj Khubha.
