The 47-year-old was simply doing her job at M Brothers kebab shop in Auburn at lunchtime yesterday when Samimjan Azari was ambushed by two masked men.

She was shot twice in the torso as she stood in the kitchen.

Her boss Mohammad Rahimi helped save her life.

"My staff are my first priority, I just hope she is doing alright," Rahimi told 9News.

She remains in hospital in a coma after losing a lot of blood in the shooting.

Police confirmed today she is in a stable condition.

The third victim of the shooting, a 25-year-old associate of Azari, was shot in the face and he remains in hospital in a critical condition.

Rahimi, who owns the store, avoided being shot after bullets missed him by just a few centimetres.

"When they were running in, they were just shooting and I was just there," he said.

CCTV footage from inside the kebab shop showed the victims fleeing as the gunmen opened fire.

The dramatic footage, obtained by 9News, shows masked men dressed in black storm the small kebab shop, while one victim attempted to defend himself with stools.

The ambush was the fourth attempt on Azari's life, police said today.

"It's quite obvious how determined they are, when you look at yesterday and the previous attempts… this is the fourth attempt on this fellow," Taskforce Falcon Commander Detective Superintendent Jason Box said of Azari.

Police are also now investigating the link between the shooting and three burnt out cars found on Wigram Street in Harris Park, Hilltop Road in Merrylands and Gerald Street in Greystanes yesterday.

Box confirmed today a white ute linked to another attempt on Azari's life in Rozelle on June 13 was one of the cars found burnt out.
