Telangana Jagruthi’s president, Kalvakuntla Kavitha posted ‘Satyameva Jayate’ (truth triumphs) on X, after a Delhi Court on Friday (February 27, 2026) discharged her, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the now-scrapped Delhi liquor policy case. Besides them, 20 others too were given a clean chit in the case.

Ms. Kavitha, daughter of Telangana’s former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, said that the case was “foisted” against her as part of a “political vendetta”.  She was in jail for five months and was released on August 27, 2024 after Supreme Court granted bail. Speaking to the media in Hyderabad on Friday, she recalled the ordeal she and her family went through during the jail term. 

Thanking the Court for discharging her, she wholeheartedly welcomed it. However, Ms. Kavitha said that the pain experienced when she was in jail for five-and-half-months away from family, children and insults borne cannot be erased. She profusely thanked her father, mother, mother-in-law, father-in-law and other members of her husband’s family for giving strength when in jail. 

However, Ms. Kavitha found fault with her elder brother and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president, K.T. Rama Rao’ post on social media.

KTR posted on X that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government led by Arvind “Kejriwal was brought down in the name of  the so-called liquor scam, and the political casualty of that narrative was the Bharat Rashtra Samithi in both the Assembly & Parliament elections.” 

“Kavita Garu got justice in court today and In the same manner, every case registered against our leaders will be conclusively exposed as false, politically motivated, and fabricated. Until that truth prevails, we will continue to witness reckless allegations from the Congress and the BJP, amplified by media trials designed to malign and mislead,” the post on X reads.

Responding to the social media post, she said, “Do not blame me for this.” and asked why BRS’s loss was being attributed to her.
