Katie Price's father-in-law has reportedly been sent to the same prison that his son Lee was said to have been sent back to earlier this week, with the dad and son having both now allegedly been accused of fraud

Katie Price's father-in-law has reportedly been sent to the same prison as his son. The ex-glamour model, 48, tied the knot with Dubai businessman Lee Andrews in January just a fortnight after she met him and the pair have rarely been out of the headlines since.

Things took a dramatic turn in May when Lee was due to fly to the UK to join Katie on Good Morning Britain, but failed to board the flight, and what followed was weeks of speculation about his whereabouts before it emerged that he was behind bars.

He left prison earlier this year, claiming he had been arrested on suspicion of espionage, although it was then claimed that is arrest was in connection with unpaid debts.

Earlier this week, it was reported that he was back in prison and then on Friday night, The Sun reported that Katie was "at the end of her tether" after his father Peter allegedly joined him at the Al Awir prison, having been reported to officials by a third party, with both now said to be facing allegations of fraud.

A friend told the outlet: "It is quite astonishing – you really couldn’t make this up. But both Lee and his dad are now behind bars, in the same prison. Lee maintains his innocence, and is hoping to pay off his outstanding debts and get out of that hell hole as quickly as possible.

“He is trying to raise the collateral to get him out of the country, and return to the UK where he hopes to start his life afresh. Whether poor Katie will be there to greet him on the other side remains to be seen. Right now she is furious with it all, and fed up with all the drama and white noise her husband is bringing." According to the insider, friends are telling Katie to call it quits with Lee now.

The Mirror has contacted Katie's representatives for comment.

According to reports last weekend, Andrews was taken by Dubai police to Lahbab police station on Friday 10 July and has been given a £120,000 fine.

Katie is currently in the UK, where her Sky documentary Nothing To Hide has just been released. He was said to have told a friend: "They've arrested me. Katie might need to bail me out. We need to make a noise with a GoFundMe.

Representatives for Mr Andrews were said to have petitioned for the judge to release him from prison so that he could access his bank accounts to pay off the remaining debts.

In a statement, representatives said: "The judgment debtor appeared before the court and was questioned regarding the reason for failure to pay the debt.

"He stated his wife is currently outside the country and that he has been unable to access his bank account required to make payment. He requested a period of 14 days in order to settle the outstanding amount." It was claimed that he was bragging behind bars that his wife would pay money to release him, however, the former model didn't part with a penny.

The Mirror approached Mr Andrews, representatives for Ms Price and Dubai Police at the time his arrest was first reported.
