A group of YSRCP supporters reportedly attacked Jana Sena Party (JSP) leader Gurana Ayyalu in Mangalaveedhi of Vizianagaram on Friday night (August 7, 2026), the police said, adding that he received multiple injuries. He was later admitted to Maharaja Government Hospital for medical treatment.

YSRCP supporter Hemanth and others had a heated discussion on local issues which led to a serious confrontation.

Gurana Ayyalu, who is President of Nukalamma temple, had an argument with a few locals regarding the arrangements. His family members told the police that Mr. Ayyalu’s rivals have been frequently provoking him on trivial issues.

JSP leaders condemned the attack and requested police department to take stern on the persons involved in the incident.
