Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian said the country will make Israel "regret its foolish act," in response to a series of Israeli attacks overnight that killed three top generals. Israel said it targeted Iran's nuclear facilities, ballistic missile factories and military commanders at the start of what it warned would be a prolonged operation to prevent Tehran from building an atomic weapon. It appeared to be the most significant attack Iran has faced since its 1980s war with Iraq.
