Two people have been found dead at a beachside unit in Queensland.

Police were called to a unit complex on Kingsford Smith Parade in Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast at 11.20am yesterday for a welfare check.

A 65-year-old man from Maroochydore and a 56-year-old man from Mountain Creek were found dead inside the home.

An investigation has been launched.

There is no ongoing threat to the community, police said.

Anyone with relevant information, CCTV footage or dashcam footage has been urged to come forward.
