IndiGo Advisory: Amid tensions in Qatar, IndiGo issued an advisory, asking travellers to check their flight status. It also stated that some of the flights may experience delays or diversions due to the ongoing situation.

“We recommend checking your flight status regularly. If your flight is impacted, alternate options can be easily explored through our website. We continue to monitor the situation closely in coordination with the relevant authorities. We appreciate your patience and understanding," added IndiGo in an official statement.

Multiple explosions were reported over Qatar’s capital, Doha, as Iran launched six missiles targeting US military bases. Axios, citing an Israeli official, confirmed that the missiles were aimed at American troops stationed in Qatar.

Reuters also reported blasts heard across the capital, marking what is being described as the largest Iranian strike on US airbases in the Gulf nation.

Qatar’s Ministry of Defence confirmed that its air defences successfully intercepted a missile attack targeting Al Udeid Air Base. The ministry said there were no injuries or deaths, thanks to the quick response of the armed forces and earlier safety measures.

It reassured the public that Qatar’s airspace and territory remain safe and that the military is fully prepared to respond to any threat. Citizens and residents are advised to follow official sources for accurate updates and guidance.

Meanwhile, the UAE, Bahrain, and Qatar closed their airspace, leading to widespread flight disruptions across the Gulf.

A Gulf Air flight from Trivandrum to Bahrain is returning to TRV after Qatar closed its airspace; the flight, which departed at 10 p.m, is expected to land back by 11 p.m.

Thiruvananthapuram International Airport has issued a passenger advisory following the closure of airspace in the Middle East, which has affected several flight operations.

It asked the travellers to check with their respective airlines for the latest flight status before heading to the airport.

Departures of Air India Express flights to Dammam and Dubai have also been put on hold, with passengers waiting inside the airport’s security hold area.

Services by Emirates (Dubai) and Qatar Airways (Doha) are currently on hold as well, with passengers being asked to wait outside the terminal until further notice.
