To ensure uninterrupted rail connectivity during ongoing infrastructure development, Indian Railways on Tuesday declared the temporary extension of three train services. This decision comes in response to major construction and renovation work currently underway at Gorakhpur Junction, a key hub in the North Eastern Railway zone. The extensions will remain in effect through the end of 2025, with changes to the routes and schedules.

Here is the list of these trains that will be affected due to construction:

  • Godan Express (11055/11056)
  • Mumbai LTT/Azamgarh SF Express (20103/20104)
  • Mumbai LTT–Dhanbad Special

Godan Express | 11055/11056

The Godan Express (11055), which operates between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) in Mumbai and Gorakhpur, will now run up to Gonda instead of Gorakhpur until December 7, 2025. The train will depart from Mumbai LTT at 10:55 am and arrive at Gonda at 11:00 pm the following day.

In the return direction, train (11056) will leave Gonda at 3:10 am and reach Mumbai LTT at 3:30 pm the next day.

Mumbai LTT/Azamgarh SF Express | 20103/20104

Azamgarh Superfast Express (LTT–Gorakhpur–LTT) will now operate up to Azamgarh until December 6, 2025 (for departures from Azamgarh) and December 5, 2025 (for departures from Mumbai LTT). The train (20103) will leave Mumbai LTT at 05:23 am and reach Azamgarh at 3:15 pm on second day of the journey.

In reverse, passenger train (20104) will depart from Azamgarh at 6:50 pm and arrive at the Mumbai region at 04:35 am on the third day.

Extension of LTT–Dhanbad Summer Special by 10 trips

Similarly, the Mumbai LTT/Azamgarh SF Express (20103/20104), which previously operated between LTT and Gorakhpur, has been extended to Azamgarh. This extension is valid until December 6, 2025, for departures from Azamgarh and December 5, 202,5 for departures from Mumbai LTT. Now, the train (20103) will depart from Mumbai LTT at 5:23 am and reach Azamgarh at 3:15 pm on the second day of the journey.

In the reverse direction, the Mumbai LTT SF Express (20104) will leave Azamgarh at 6:50 pm and arrive in the Mumbai region at 4:35 am on the third day.

To accommodate increased passenger demand, Central Railway has also announced an extension of the Dhanbad Special Fare Summer Special (Mumbai LTT–Dhanbad) by 10 additional trips.

Train No. 03380 (LTT–Dhanbad Weekly Special), which was originally scheduled to run until June 26, 2025, will now operate from July 3 to July 31, 2025, adding five more trips. 

In the reverse direction, the Dhanbad–LTT Weekly Special train (03379) will now run from July 1 to July 29, 2025, also adding five extra trips.

However, according to Indian Railways, there will be no change in timings and halts for these trains.

Indian Railways officials have advised passengers to check detailed timings and station halts on the the enquiry portal or through the NTES app.
