A common pass for Hyderabad Metro Rail and Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) services would be launched on Friday (October 2, 2026).
It was learnt that daily and monthly passes would be issued to travel in the buses and the Metro Rail. The cards would be sold at the Metro Stations. A certain amount would be collected when the card is purchased for the first time, which would be refunded when returned. Besides the Metro, the pass can be used to travel in the RTC buses within Outer Ring Road (ORR), barring Pushpak service — dedicated to travel to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad.
The Corporation may also launch a facility for passengers to buy tickets online, providing an alternative to tickets printed on paper. This will be in addition to the current facility of paying for tickets scanning QR codes displayed in ticket issuing machines. Digital weekly passes too would be launched by TGSRTC
This comes nearly a month after the Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju issued directions to introduce a joint travel pass for the Metro Rail and the Corporation’s bus services at the earliest.
Officials were asked to make arrangements to issue the passes for seamless travel across the two modes of public transport. It would be launched by the State government in collaboration with the Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd and TGSRTC. Chief guest of the programme, to be held at Praja Bhavan in the city, would be Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.
