Amid fears of a fuel crisis, the government has formed a panel to address restaurants’ commercial supply concerns.

ANI quoted government sources saying that the Oil Marketing companies will talk to the various restaurant associations to understand their problems of LPG supply.

“A committee of three members comprising Executive Directors of IOC, HPCL and BPCL has been formed by the govt to listen to their grievances. Their genuine requirement of commercial LPG will be met. This committee will also reprioritise the supply as per the requirements," they said.

Amid mounting strain on global energy supplies due to the ongoing West Asia conflict, the union government on Tuesday invoked the Essential Commodities Act (EC Act) to protect the domestic fuel market from potential disruptions.

Later, the major state-run oil and gas companies moved to reassure millions of domestic consumers across the country that LPG, CNG, and PNG supplies will remain unaffected.

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) issued identical statements on X, saying steps have been taken to boost LPG production and ensure its availability for households first.
