Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwaySpeaking at an emergency meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna Monday – convened after the U.S. attacked Iran’s nuclear program over the weekend – Iranian United Nations (UN) representative Reza Najafi says Iran will “undertake necessary, resolute, and proportionate measures to neutralize” any further threats. “These unlawful attacks may have far-reaching and devastating environmental consequences, posing serious risks of radioactive, chemical and biological contamination not only for Iran, but for the entire region,” Najafi said, noting “self-defence” as Iran’s “inherent right” per the UN charter. The U.S. inserted itself in Israel’s war against Iran early Sunday after President Donald Trump approved the launch of strikes on three separate Iranian nuclear sites. Due to the size of the U.S. payload, IAEA Director-General Rafael Grossi said “very significant damage is expected to have occurred” at Iran’s Fordow facility, which has not yet been fully assessed. While the IAEA believes negotiations are in order to stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weaponry, Iran allegedly informed the agency that it would "special measures" to protect its nuclear materials and equipment that are under so-called IAEA safeguards, according to Grossi.
