Vertigo Releasing have released the UK Trailer for Canadian post apocalyptic thriller 40 acres starring Danielle Deadwyler…Get off their land!

The film is the directorial feature debut for R.T. Thorne (Blindspot, The Porter). Thorne is no stranger to the industry as well as music industry the filmmaker has made his name in. This made it’s world premiere at last year’s Toronto Film Festival leaving with some fantastic reviews.

40 Acres next to Deadwyler also stars Michael Greyeyes. We follow the Freeman family and the last descendants of the African American farmers who have live on the farm since 1875. Since then they have survived plagues, wars and now in the future famines reigns and they still thrive. The family take one last stand against cannibals who want what they have.

Hailey Freeman (Deadwyler) and her family are the last descendants of African American farmers who settled in 1875 in rural Canada after the first Civil War. In a famine-decimated future they struggle to make their last stand against those intent on taking their home.
