CHICAGO () — A fourth beluga whale rescued from Canada has died at Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium, the institution confirmed Friday.
The announcement follows the recent death of another beluga that had long lived at the aquarium.
Last month, Shedd Aquarium released updated findings concerning the series of beluga whale deaths at its facility.
According to the aquarium, investigators found no indication that a communicable disease was responsible for the deaths.

Two of the whales, Peekachu and Rain, were diagnosed with chronic gastrointestinal disease. Both had arrived from a shuttered Canadian marineland after being sick for an extended period.
The circumstances surrounding the death of a third beluga rescued from Canada remained under review.
The newly reported death of a fourth Canadian rescue whale is also being investigated.
Beethoven, another beluga who died recently, had spent years at Shedd Aquarium. Officials said he died of old age.
