Former Zilla Panchayat member Devraj Naik has urged the government of Karnataka to supply sufficient fertiliser to the district.

Addressing a press conference in Yadgir on June 14, he said, “Farmers have begun sowing monsoon crops. The government of Karnataka should supply fertilisers on the basis of actual land holding of farmers. The Agriculture Department should take necessary steps to get fertiliser from the government without any delay.”

He demanded that GESCOM ensure sufficient power supply to farm pump sets for at least 7 hours in a day, enabling them to water crops. “The department must also take immediate action to replace defective transformers,” he added.
