The Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court has granted anticipatory bail to filmmaker Chidambaram in a sexual assault case registered against him based on a complaint filed by a young woman actor. The director of the Malayalam blockbuster Manjummal Boys was booked by the Ernakulam Town South police last week. The complainant has accused the director of sexually misbehaving with her at an apartment here in 2022. Mr. Chidambaram was charged under Section 74 (outrage the modesty of a woman) and Section 75 (sexual harassment offences) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
