EXCLUSIVE: An actor from Christopher Nolan’s epic summer blockbuster The Odyssey has opened up after he was propelled into the spotlight by his fiancée's viral video

One of the cast members of The Odyssey has opened up about how his fiancée threw him a surprise movie premiere after he didn’t get invited to the official one.

Lloyd Ejimbe, who plays one of the giants in Christopher Nolan’s Greek mythological epic starring Matt Damon, was left stunned after his wife-to-be, Nneka Muotto, made special cinema tickets as she held a premiere just for him.

In a now-viral video, the pair were at the O2 to watch The Odyssey, only for her to surprise him with a set of custom-made tickets for their premiere.

Once the credits rolled on The Odyssey, she told the rest of the audience that Lloyd was one of the supporting artists in the movie, prompting filmgoers to take snaps with him outside the cinema.

In an exclusive interview with Reach Plc, the publishers of The Mirror, both actor Lloyd and his fiancée, Nneka, opened up about the hugely positive social media response to the heartwarming video.

Reflecting on fans taking photos with him after the movie, Lloyd said: “It was just special to me. It was special to me at that moment.”

Model and actor Lloyd stands at an impressive 6ft 11in and is often mistaken for a basketball player, given his stature, including American NBA star Jaylen Brown, who plays for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Meanwhile, Nneka said the comments had been “so lovely” and she was now being called the “good wife” online, even though the couple are yet to exchange vows.

She went on to explain why she wanted to throw the film premiere for Lloyd: “You know, I just want to disclaim that I know that we were not deserving of the premiere. You know, he was an extra.

“So, it's not that it was our entitlement to have an invitation to the premiere. It was more about celebrating that moment and creating our own premiere.”

She went on to say that rather than being a dig at anyone, their premiere was about “changing the narrative” and making their “own table”.

Adding: “It was more about appreciating the moment. I even gave a shout out to like Christopher Nolan, the Odyssey cast, you know, his agent.”

Nneka even went the extra mile, using Google, Canva and ChatGPT to help replicate tickets from The Odyssey premiere, which she then laminated for them to serve as keepsakes from their own event.

She hoped that the video would take Lloyd from an extra to a “main role”, more so after many had commented that casting was currently taking place on the latest Black Panther movie.

Nneka noted: “You know, everyone deserves their flowers, however small, big, medium. You know, there was one comment I saw that said ‘I don't care if he was a plant. He deserves to be at the premiere!’

“But no, it's been amazing. It's been amazing. And I think it's just only going to open more opportunities.”
