Dr. Phil McGraw and Robin McGraw are ready to part ways with their lavish Beverly Hills estate, more than a decade after transforming the property into a grand Mediterranean Revival-style mansion.
The couple purchased the property for $29.8 million in 2010 and completed the residence a year later after a lengthy construction process. Now, 16 years after acquiring the land, the 16,079-square-foot estate has been listed for $67.5 million, according to Realtor.com. The asking price is more than double the couple’s original purchase cost and reflects the scale, privacy and extensive amenities of the sprawling compound. Set across 2.76 acres in the Beverly Hills Post Office area, the estate combines old-Hollywood glamour with the comforts of a modern luxury retreat. Read more details about their lavish house, as per Realtor.com, here:
A major jump in value
The property is being marketed by Billy Dolan of Carolwood Estates.
If it sells close to the asking price, the transaction could give the McGraws a difference of approximately $37.7 million between their original purchase price and the current listing price. However, that figure does not include the money spent on construction, landscaping, later improvements, maintenance, taxes and selling expenses.According to Realtor.com, the couple bought the property in 2010 and completed the mansion in 2011.
The residence was designed by architect Kevin Clark, although the construction process reportedly stretched across seven years. The result is not simply a large family home, but a complete private compound designed for entertaining, relaxation and accommodating guests. The estate includes eight bedrooms and more than 10 bathrooms across 16,079 square feet of living space. At the current asking price, the home is valued at approximately $4,198 per square foot, the report shared.
Its size, location and collection of private amenities place it firmly among the most expensive celebrity properties currently available in the Los Angeles area.Mediterranean style meets modern luxury The mansion makes a dramatic statement with its Mediterranean-inspired architecture, grand proportions and ornate details. Inside, formal living and entertaining rooms have high ceilings, large windows and multiple fireplaces.
French doors and expansive windows help to connect the interiors with the landscaped grounds, creating a sense of openness despite the home’s highly traditional design.
The kitchen is designed for both daily use and large-scale entertaining. It features high-end Wolf and Miele appliances, as well as a butler’s pantry that provides extra storage and preparation space. An informal dining area offers a more relaxed setting than the formal rooms, while nearby doors open towards a patio surrounded by fountains. One of the home’s more distinctive features is its wine cellar. Accessed by a staircase decorated with herringbone-patterned brickwork, the cellar adds another layer of old-world character to the estate. The property also includes colourful wallpaper, chandeliers and richly decorated lounging spaces, reinforcing its elaborate, classic style.
A private resort-like compound
The estate’s design extends well beyond the main residence. The compound has dedicated staff facilities and a guesthouse, providing staff and visitors their own space but with privacy within the main house.
This is an ideal design for a property of this size, allowing entertainment and household activities to take place independently of the owners. The primary suite functions as a private sanctuary rather than just a bedroom.
It features a sitting area, separate bathrooms and large wardrobe areas. The extra room allows the suite to be a self-contained part of the mansion, with room for both leisure and personal activities.Outside, the grounds have been extensively landscaped to create a secluded setting. A large swimming pool serves as the centrepiece of the outdoor entertainment area, while the property’s elevated position offers views of the surrounding city skyline and nearby mountains. The grounds are designed to feel more like a private resort than a conventional backyard.
Pool, tennis court and expansive grounds
Sports and recreation are also central to the estate’s appeal.
The property includes a clay tennis court accompanied by an entertainment pavilion, creating a dedicated space for both games and social gatherings. A four-car garage and large motor court provide ample room for vehicles, guests and arrivals.Together, the pool, tennis court, pavilion, guesthouse, staff quarters and landscaped grounds give the property an unusually comprehensive character. For the next owner, the mansion offers the privacy of a gated retreat while remaining close to the lifestyle and prestige associated with Beverly Hills. The current listing also comes at a time when the McGraws continue to hold a substantial property portfolio. Realtor.com reported that the couple owns several other California residences, including a Calabasas mansion purchased in 2011 for $6.6 million and another Beverly Hills property bought for $10 million in 2020. That home is understood to be used mainly by their son Jordan McGraw and his wife, Morgan Stewart. The couple also owns a mansion in Dallas, which Dr. Phil purchased in 2020 after it had been listed for just under $12 million. Their Beverly Hills estate, however, remains the most ambitious property in the portfolio now being offered to the market. At $67.5 million, the residence is aimed at a buyer seeking more than square footage. It offers a complete luxury lifestyle, with grand architecture, private guest facilities, resort-style outdoor spaces and a location associated with celebrity Los Angeles. Whether the property achieves its full asking price will depend on the market and the buyer’s appetite for a highly personalised estate, but the listing already highlights the remarkable rise in value of the home since the McGraws purchased it in 2010.
