With election day drawing closer, both campaigns are concentrating on the ridings they believe could determine who forms government. Ben O'Hara-Byrne and Keith Baldrey examine why Conservative Leader Lorne Doerkson spent the day in Richmond-Steveston and Burnaby South-Metrotown after campaigning in key Vancouver Island ridings, and what those stops reveal about where the BC Conservatives believe they can make gains in the campaign's final days. Meanwhile, BC NDP Leader David Eby was back in Surrey, once again focusing on health care in a city both parties view as critical to victory. Ben and Keith discuss Surrey's shifting political landscape, the influence of the South Asian vote, and why the NDP continues to emphasize health care despite facing questions about its record after nearly a decade in government. The pair also break down slower-than-expected advance voting turnout, controversy surrounding an NDP mailout that the BC Conservatives argue closely resembles Elections BC material, and the question Eby continues to hear on the campaign trail: why he called the election in the first place. Ben and Keith's analysis delves into BC NDP Leader David Eby's unfavourable ratings, the uneasiness in the months leading up to the snap election call, and during this campaign.
