Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayDave Bautista will reportedly join the cast of the sequel to Road House at Amazon and MGM Studios.
This film will be directed by Guy Ritchie, who is known for The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (2015), Snatch (2000), and most recently Apple TV’s Fountain of Youth (2025).
Road House, a remake of a 1989 film starring Patrick Swayze, was released in 2024 with Jake Gyllenhaal as the lead and Doug Lyman as director. Liman apparently disagreed with Amazon over its lack of a theatrical release for the film, according to Dark Horizons.
Gyllenhaal will return as ex-UFC fighter Dalton, with Will Beall at the helm of the script.
The first film followed Dalton, who took a job as a bouncer at a rowdy roadhouse in the Florida Keys. He quickly discovered that not everything was as it seemed. Dave Bautista will play a former fighter who will be quite similar to Dalton. There have been no further details of other cast members or the new film’s story released.
The remake became Amazon’s most-watched film debut ever on a worldwide basis, with nearly 100 million worldwide viewers tuning in to see it. Bautista was last seen in Paul W.S. Anderson’s sci-fi actioner In The Lost Lands, alongside Milla Jovovich. He is also working on The Wrecking Crew alongside his Dune co-star Jason Momoa as well as Trap House, Afterburn and The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender.
The sequel is aiming to shoot in September this year.
