U.S. President Donald Trump has made it clear he’d like to see Canada become America’s 51st state. He’s talked about erasing the border between the two countries, and It appears that desire extends not just to coveting Canada's land, but to the water that flows between the shared border. Trump has publicly mused about “turning on the faucet” in Canada and diverting water from the Columbia River into the U.S. He’s also talked behind closed doors about pulling the U.S. out of the Great Lakes Water Quality accord, a pact between Canada and the U.S. to monitor and maintain the health of the Great Lakes.
