PROTECT YOURSELF with Orgo-Life® QUANTUM TECHNOLOGY
Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayCosta Rica once again consolidates its position as a global leader in sustainability and environmental conservation. This time, the spotlight is on “Urban Eco-Connection” (Eco-Conexión Urbana), a Costa Rican initiative that stood out among hundreds of international proposals to secure a coveted spot at the prestigious World Biodiversity Forum 2026 in Davos, Switzerland.
The project, driven by HEINEKEN Costa Rica, demonstrates that industrial activity and ecological conservation can not only coexist but actively reinforce one another within urban environments.
What is Urban Eco-Connection?
The initiative is built upon the scientific research paper titled “Integration of Nature-Based Solutions in Urban Landscapes.” The study focuses specifically on the Cubujuquí Interurban Biological Corridor, located in the province of Heredia.
Through this analysis, researchers evaluated how green spaces within industrial facilities can function as vital ecological connectors for local flora and fauna, mitigating the harsh impacts of rapid urban expansion.
Key Findings: Wildlife in Industrial Zones
The presentation in Davos showcased compelling data that quickly captured the attention of global experts. Scientific monitoring within the company’s production facilities yielded surprising results:
163 wildlife species identified: The study recorded high biodiversity transit and habitat usage within these industrial green spaces.
Urban sanctuaries: The detected groups include a rich variety of birds, mammals, insects, reptiles, and amphibians.
Real ecological connectivity: The research scientifically proved that industrial lands with proper environmental management serve as crucial “green patches” or wildlife corridors, preventing species isolation in urban areas.
“Participating in a global platform like the World Biodiversity Forum is an opportunity to prove that it is entirely possible to develop solutions in Costa Rica that seamlessly integrate competitiveness, science, and sustainability,” highlighted Timothy Scott Hall, Corporate Relations Director for the company.
A Global Showcase for Sustainability
The project was presented in Davos by Karine Steinvorth Rojas, Environmental Value Leader, who participated in the high-level international session “Re-imagining Cities for Nature-Positive and People-Positive Futures.”
This milestone not only highlights the executing company’s efforts but also elevates Costa Rica’s reputation as a living laboratory for nature-based solutions, inspiring other global corporations to replicate urban connectivity models in their own countries.
