This spring, five years after WholeGrain Cycles took the bike world by storm with the release of JACK the Rack, the small brand returned with a pair of fresh flagship products: The CLIFF Bag Hanger and CARRIE Cradle. Miles had pre-production samples of both and shared a detailed review in March, concluding that they’re impressively versatile when used alone or together. Today, we’re happy to offer one of each to a randomly selected Bikepacking Collective member, a $200 value for our winner.

WholeGrain Cycles CLIFF

Made from durable 304 Stainless Steel, the WholeGrain Cycles CLIFF the Bag Hanger employs the same clever boltless mounting system as JACK, featuring two main hooks that attach to the handlebars on either side of your stem. The steerer tube strap and cam-lock buckle keep the CLIFF from rotating upward, and the yellow load strap loops under the stem to prevent downward rotation. Together, they offer an impressively solid platform for most handlebar rolls.

The CLIFF frees up hand space on the tops of your bars and lets cables run freely without pressing against your headtube, preventing damage and improving performance. The full system with all accessories weighs around 400 grams and has a 5-kilogram (11-pound) load capacity. It includes shims for 31.8mm, 25.4mm, and 22.2mm bars. WholeGrain Cycles CARRIE

Designed to nest in the CLIFF, the WholeGrain Cycles CARRIE is a two-part cradle and hard-wearing waterproof dry bag that offers 18L of storage. Its two primary compression straps loop through CLIFF’s upper slots and around the dry bag, and paired with the included lower strap, it’s a virtually movement-free system.

The CARRIE also has various loops and MOLLE-style webbing you can use to secure tent poles or other items, and the main faces have some structure thanks to internal recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) panels.
