Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy requested the United States government to simplify H-1B visa processing and stamping procedures to avoid delays.

Steps should be taken to provide information in advance regarding any changes in the visa regulations. The Chief Minister made the request when he called on the U.S. ambassador Sergio Gor in New Delhi on Wednesday. Mr. Revanth Reddy favoured collaboration between the US universities and those in Telangana. Mr. Gor responded positively to the Chief Minister's requests.

Mr. Revanth Reddy sought an increase in the number of visas for students from Telangana traveling to the U.S. for higher education as also the assistance of the U.S. authorities in ensuring timely visa appointments. He wanted an increase in visa interview slots and expeditious processing of visa applications.

He brought to Mr. Gor’s attention the issues faced by professionals from Telangana working in various sectors in America. The meeting focussed on the safety and welfare of students from Telangana studying in the U.S.
