A Class VIII student allegedly stabbed a 15-year-old senior to death during a school break in Maharashtra’s Ahilyanagar district, the police said on Friday (June 27, 2025).

The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday (June 25, 2025)within the school premises. The 13-year-old suspect, also a student at the same institution, was taken into custody by the Tofkhana police and produced before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) on Friday (June 27, 2025).

“We presented the accused in front of the Juvenile Justice Board, waiting for custody. We are investigating where the assailant acquired the weapon and the motive. Prima facie looks like the fallout of previous fights between both the boys’ families. Last year in April, they came to the police station with their families over the petty fights,” said Aanand Kokare, Police Inspector at Tofkhana police station.

The deceased’s father lodged a First Information Report, and the accused has been booked under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Police said the boys, who were also neighbours, had a heated argument during the break which escalated rapidly. The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times with a sharp weapon. The boy was declared dead by doctors shortly after the incident.
