She said she would let Prime Minister Mark Carney do the negotiations, but maintained that Canada "will not negotiate in public." "In context of the trade war," Joly added, saying she was supporting workers affected by the "unjustified" tariffs on aluminum, steel and the auto sector. Joly said Canada is "open for discussion" with the auto sector. "The auto sector is fundamental to Canada's manufacturing and our national sovereignty," she added.
