HYDERABAD

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader, former MLA from Narsampet in Warangal district and a close associate of the party founder-president K. Chandrashekhar Rao from 2001, Peddi Sudarshan Reddy, 52, breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a corporate hospital here early on Friday. He is survived by wife, a son and a daughter.

He suffered pulmonary embolism, a sudden blockage in an artery in the lungs, in his residence at Hanumakonda on July 26 and collapsed. He was rushed to a private hospital there and was revived after a CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) was performed by the doctors and was shifted to a corporate hospital here for better treatment.

Sudarshan Reddy’s association with KCR and BRS/TRS began in 2001 when the party was formed and was elected as a ZPTC member from Nallabelly the same year. After the formation of Telangana, he was made Chairman of the State Civil Corporation in 2016 and was in that post till 2018. He was elected as MLA from Narsampet in 2018.

Born on August 6, 1974 at Nallabelly, he was active in the movement for statehood to Telangana since 2001. He worked as the district president of the party for eight years and State general secretary later. He was declared dead at 12.51 am on Friday by the team of doctors attending to him. He would be cremated at his native place in the evening.

Expressing shock at the death of Sudarshan Reddy, Mr. Chandrashekhar Rao said he had lost a close associate and extended his sympathies with the bereaved family, assuring them of all support from the party. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, working president of BRS K.T. Rama Rao, TPCC president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud, BRS leaders from across the State condoled the sudden death of Mr. Sudarshan Reddy.

Senior leaders of the party, including T. Harish Rao, K.T. Rama Rao, B. Vinod Kumar, Palla Rajeswhara Reddy, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Satyavathi Rathod, G. Jagadish Reddy, T. Srinivas Yadav, R.S. Praveen Kumar and several others, were present at Nallabelli during the cremation of Sudarshan Reddy around 10 pm on Friday, held with official honours.
