In early 2025, more Brazilians than ever are applying for and receiving U.S. business and work visas, according to official data from the U.S. Department of State.

From January to April 2025, permanent work and business visa approvals for Brazilians rose by 22.5% compared to the same period in 2024. At the same time, temporary visa approvals for Brazilians dropped by 23.7%.

These numbers show that more Brazilians want to move to the United States to build businesses and stay long-term, not just visit or work temporarily. The main visas Brazilians use for business and professional migration are the EB-1, EB-2, and EB-5 categories.

The EB-1 visa is for people with outstanding skills in fields like science, business, or sports. The EB-2 National Interest Waiver lets highly skilled professionals apply for permanent residency without needing a job offer.

The EB-5 visa is for investors who put significant money into U.S. businesses and create American jobs. The March 2025 U.S. Department of State Visa Bulletin confirms that there are no delays for Brazilians applying for EB-1 or EB-5 visas.

Additionally, the EB-2 process has become a bit faster, making these options more attractive. The U.S. government issues about 140,000 employment-based immigrant visas each year.

These visas allow applicants, along with their families, to live and work in the United States permanently. The process usually starts with a company or agent in the U.S. applying for the candidate, except for the EB-1 category, where the applicant can apply directly.

Brazilian Entrepreneurs Flock to the U.S. for Stability and Growth

Brazilian entrepreneurs are choosing the U.S. because it offers a stable business environment, clearer tax rules, and a safer place for their families.

Many have experience running companies in Brazil and want to expand into the U.S. market, where they see better chances for growth and profit.

The U.S. government has responded to this demand by increasing the number of visa appointments and making the application process more efficient.

These trends matter for both countries. For Brazil, it means some of its most skilled professionals and business owners are leaving to seek better opportunities.

For the United States, it means a steady flow of experienced entrepreneurs and investors who can help grow the economy and create jobs. The story behind the numbers is clear: in 2025, Brazilians are not just dreaming of success in the United States.

They are acting on it, using official legal pathways to build new lives and businesses across the border. This shift reflects both the challenges in Brazil and the continuing appeal of the U.S. as a place where business and family life can thrive.
