The PR3 mixed four team, made up of Aline Dumas, Marcela Teixeira, Erík Lima, Gabriel Mendes, and coxswain Jucelino Silva, won gold by finishing their 2,000-meter race in 7 minutes and 3.45 seconds.
This group had only trained together for two weeks before the event. Their quick teamwork paid off with a top finish. In the PR2 mixed double sculls, Michel Pessanha and Gessyca Guerra also won gold, completing their race in 8 minutes and 32.62 seconds.
Diana Barcelos and Jairo Klüg earned bronze in the PR3 mixed double sculls, finishing in 7 minutes and 20.40 seconds. The Varese event included more than 600 athletes from 39 countries, making it a major international competition.
