Belleau says she is troubled by a recent resurgence in denialism and is calling on the federal government to follow through with recommendations already made by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada. An estimated 150,000 Indigenous children attended the residential school system, which was aimed at disconnecting them from their traditional cultures.
