Apple announced at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference on Monday its latest iteration of the macOS known as 'Tahoe', which will be the main operating system for the upcoming Mac personal computer devices.

It features the 'liquid glass' design display, which was unveiled across all of Apple's upcoming operating systems. This display reflects light dynamically with a translucent aesthetic.

There will also be options to add new controls for Mac and iPhone apps. Users can change the colour for folders and add symbols and emojis to them and also have personalised wallpaper and theme colours for the same.

A ‘Live Activities’ feature will also be available in the macOS Tahoe, meaning a notification for an incoming food order on your iPhone may show up on the MacBook as well.

The operating system has also revamped the 'Spotlight' system search feature. Users can now see search results from all their files, apps, events and folders in one place. Documents from third-party cloud services will also show up in the search results.

Users can also access and launch applications from their iPhone directly on to their Macs, through the iPhone Mirroring capability.

Live activities from the iPhone will also show up on the Mac, which can help users track live updates like the food orders and flights.

There is a new Games app designed to be a central hub for video games. A place where users can easily see all the titles they're currently playing and also see their friends' gaming activities. A Game Overlay has been added, where users no longer have to leave the screen with their current game playing to access settings or chat with their friend.

The popular Journal app from iPhone and iPad also made its debut on the Mac. The To-do list has become smarter as Reminders are now powered by Apple Intelligence, automatically organizing tasks into logical sections.

Other features include integration of Apple Intelligence AI powered real-time live translation features for Messages and FaceTime.
