Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayLiverpool manager Andoni Iraola insists his side must start collecting Premier League points regardless of where they play as he looks to secure his first home league win at Anfield.
The Reds have failed to win any of their opening three top flight matches at home under Iraola, although they have enjoyed better results at Anfield in other competitions.
Liverpool have beaten Atletico Madrid, Villarreal and Tottenham on home soil, with the Spaniard pointing to those performances as evidence that his players are capable of delivering in front of their own supporters.
Speaking ahead of Liverpool’s next Premier League fixture against Brighton, Iraola insisted he was more concerned about collecting points than ending a particular unwanted record.
“I want to win games. Home, away, we need points wherever we can get them,” he said.
“It’s true that the three games we haven’t won, but also our three games [wins in other competitions] have been high level games – Atletico, Villarreal, Spurs – and we won them with good performances at home also.
“We play at home the next two [Premier League] games so I would love to win them, but if we were playing away I would say the same.”
Iraola praises Liverpool youngsters and sends Ngumoha message
The Liverpool boss believes the progress of his young players has created a positive atmosphere, with each breakthrough encouraging others to follow.
“I think they are supporting each other. You could feel it straight away, even in pre-season and the ones who played the games,” Iraola said.
“You could feel after their performances they were looking at each other, praising each other and when they see one of them getting a start in the Champions League or in the Premier League and maybe it’s not themselves, but they feel it like ‘OK I am close to being there’.”
Ngumoha has attracted particular attention following his recent performances, including an impressive display against Villarreal in the Champions League.
However, Iraola urged the 18-year-old to remain focused on improving rather than becoming distracted by outside opinions.

Picture date: Monday August 4, 2025.“I think every player has to focus on performances – on keep doing well, improve the things they can improve,” he said.
“The outside noise, when it’s good, when it’s bad, I think it affects, obviously, but we have to not be affected by those things.
“Continue to do your job as good as you can, improve the things you can improve – don’t be affected by the things you hear.”
