American Airlines said it had resumed flights Tuesday evening after briefly grounding its fleet of jets because of a “technology issue.”

The FAA’s Air Traffic Control System Command Center issued a ground stop advisory Tuesday, preventing American Airlines’ planes from taking off. Flights already in the air were unaffected by the disruption.

American Airlines announced in a post on X that the outage had been resolved.

“A technology issue briefly impacted connectivity for some of our systems on Tuesday evening,” the airline said in its post and in a statement to CNET. “Systems are coming back online now and flights are departing again. We put a temporary ground stop in place while our teams worked to resolve the issue. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience.”

The post didn’t specify the cause of the issue.
