Former and current teammates and coaches were among those in attendance. The brothers died on Thursday in a car crash in Spain, when their Lamborghini veered off the road and burst into flames. They were believed to be driving to a ferry to travel to Britain. Jota's wife, Rute Cardoso, was embraced by other attendees as she arrived at the Chapel of the Resurrection, where the coffins were lying before the ceremony. Jota's death at the age of 28 sent shock waves through the world of soccer and beyond. Messages of condolences poured in from national leaders as well as across the sport. Silva, who was 25, was also a footballer and played for Penafiel, in the Portuguese second division.
